Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 12 slider buns
  • 12 cheddar cheese slices
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef patties: Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, then gently form into small patties slightly larger than your slider buns since they’ll shrink while cooking. Keep them uniform in size for even cooking.
  2. Cook the patties: Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top near the end to melt beautifully.
  3. Toast the buns: While the patties cook, spread softened butter on the slider buns and toast them lightly on a separate pan or grill until golden and slightly crispy.
  4. Assemble the sliders: Layer each bottom bun with a warm patty, then add diced onions, pickles, and your choice of ketchup and mustard. Top with the toasted bun and serve warm.

Notes

  • Don’t overwork the meat to keep patties tender.
  • Using a cast iron skillet helps achieve a great sear on the patties.
  • Toast buns last and keep them covered to retain freshness.
  • Cover patties in the last minute of cooking to melt cheese evenly.
  • Prep toppings ahead of time to streamline assembly.
