Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Chop broccoli into bite-sized florets. Season chicken breasts or thighs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly.
  2. Cook the Chicken and Broccoli: In a skillet over medium heat, lightly brown the chicken until seared but not fully cooked. Remove chicken and set aside. Using the same skillet, steam or lightly sauté broccoli until bright green and slightly tender.
  3. Mix the Creamy Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream or Greek yogurt with shredded cheddar cheese and a pinch of additional seasoning. Stir well to create a creamy mixture.
  4. Assemble in a Baking Dish: Grease a baking dish. Layer the cooked chicken and broccoli evenly. Pour the creamy cheese mixture over the top and spread evenly. Optionally, sprinkle breadcrumbs over for a crunchy topping.
  5. Bake Until Golden: Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the topping is bubbly and lightly golden. Allow to rest a few minutes before serving to let flavors meld.
