  • 1/2 cup condensed milk

  • 1 tablespoon ghee

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Start by finely shredding fresh coconut or use pre-grated unsweetened coconut. Measure out the condensed milk, ghee, and cardamom powder so everything is ready.
  2. Heat the ghee: Warm 1 tablespoon of ghee in a non-stick pan over medium heat to add richness and prevent sticking.
  3. Roast the coconut: Add the grated coconut and roast lightly for 2–3 minutes until aromatic but not browned, stirring continuously.
  4. Add condensed milk and cardamom: Pour in the condensed milk, sprinkle cardamom powder, and mix well. Cook on low heat for 5–7 minutes until the mixture thickens and comes together.
  5. Cool and shape: Remove from heat and let the mixture cool until comfortable to handle. Roll small portions into smooth, round laddoos using your palms.
  6. Garnish (optional): Press a piece of chopped nut or saffron strand on top for an inviting finish. Let them set completely before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh grated coconut for best flavor and texture instead of desiccated coconut.
  • Cook the mixture only until it thickens; overcooking can dry out the laddoos.
  • Allow the mixture to cool slightly before shaping to avoid sticky hands.
  • Use a non-stick pan to prevent burning and ensure even cooking.
  • Adjust sweetness by tasting the mixture before shaping and adding more condensed milk if needed.
