Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 medium wheel of Brie Cheese
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

Optional Ingredients

  • Fresh thyme leaves (to taste)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (if using)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using puff pastry, thaw it beforehand. Roughly chop the pecans and measure out dried cranberries, honey, and fresh thyme if using.
  2. Arrange the Brie: Place the brie wheel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If using puff pastry, place the brie on the dough and wrap it completely, sealing the edges securely.
  3. Add Cranberries and Pecans: Generously sprinkle the dried cranberries and chopped pecans evenly over the brie or the wrapped pastry. These will caramelize slightly during baking, adding color and crunch.
  4. Drizzle with Honey: Drizzle honey or maple syrup evenly over the nuts and cranberries. Add fresh thyme leaves now if using, to infuse aromatic herbal notes.
  5. Bake Until Melty: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the brie is gooey and the pecans are toasted. If wrapped in puff pastry, bake until the crust turns golden brown.
  6. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly while keeping it warm and melty, perfect for dipping.

Notes

  • Let brie sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before baking to ensure even melting.
  • Optionally toast pecans lightly beforehand to enhance their nutty flavor.
  • Use parchment paper on the baking sheet to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  • Watch bake time closely; overbaking may cause cheese to become too runny.
  • Serve with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh fruit for the best texture contrast.
