Easy Tiramisu Recipe

This Easy Tiramisu Recipe is a classic Italian dessert featuring layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone filling, finished with a dusting of cocoa powder. It combines simple ingredients and quick preparation for a rich, elegant treat perfect for any occasion. With bold coffee flavor and a smooth, airy texture, this make-ahead dessert is as versatile as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 250g mascarpone cheese
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 100g sugar
  • 240ml heavy cream, whipped to soft peaks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Soaking Liquid

  • 240ml strong brewed espresso, cooled to room temperature

Main Components

  • 200g ladyfinger biscuits

Topping

  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the espresso and soak ladyfingers: Brew strong espresso and let it cool to room temperature. Quickly dip the ladyfinger biscuits one by one into the espresso, soaking them just enough to absorb flavor while remaining firm.
  2. Whip mascarpone filling: In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until creamy and lightened in color. Gently fold in mascarpone cheese, followed by whipped heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Assemble the layers: In your serving dish, spread a layer of soaked ladyfingers evenly. Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture on top and smooth it out. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and finish with the remaining mascarpone cream.
  4. Chill and dust: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, allowing flavors to meld and the dessert to set. Before serving, sift a generous layer of cocoa powder over the top for that classic tiramisu look.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs: Since raw eggs are used, make sure they’re fresh and from a trusted source for safety.
  • Don’t over-soak ladyfingers: A quick dip is best to prevent sogginess and keep texture intact.
  • Chill well: Allow the tiramisu to chill for several hours to deepen the flavor and firm up the layers.
  • Customize coffee strength: Adjust espresso intensity based on your taste—some like it stronger for a bold coffee punch.
  • Dust cocoa at the last minute: Add cocoa powder right before serving to keep the surface neat and fresh-looking.
