Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups marshmallow fluff
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers or rice cereal
  • 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • Caramel sauce (for swirling)
  • Sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to ensure your Fluffernutter Bars will come out cleanly after setting.
  2. Melt Butter and Peanut Butter: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and peanut butter together, stirring frequently until the mixture is creamy and fully combined.
  3. Stir in Marshmallow Fluff: Remove the pan from heat, then stir in the marshmallow fluff until it’s completely incorporated and you have a smooth, gooey mixture.
  4. Add Powdered Sugar and Flavorings: Gradually sift in the powdered sugar, mixing well to avoid lumps. Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, blending until uniform.
  5. Optional Add-Ins: If you’re adding crushed graham crackers, cereal, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or caramel sauce, gently fold them in now for extra texture and flavor.
  6. Press Into Pan and Chill: Transfer the mixture to your prepared pan and press it down firmly with a spatula or your hands for an even layer. Refrigerate for at least an hour to set before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Use creamy peanut butter for a smooth texture that’s easier to slice.
  • Don’t skip chilling; it helps bars develop firmness and hold their shape.
  • Measure powdered sugar carefully to avoid dryness or stickiness.
  • Line your pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal and clean edges.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the pan to prevent crumbling.
