Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 4 to 6 black tea bags
  • 4 cups filtered water

Fruit and Sweetener

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

To Serve

  • Ice cubes (or frozen pineapple cubes)
  • Optional garnishes: fresh pineapple wedge, mint or basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Brew the Tea: Boil 4 cups of fresh filtered water and steep 4 to 6 black tea bags for about 5 minutes to extract a full-bodied flavor. Avoid overbrewing to prevent bitterness. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool.
  2. Prepare Pineapple Juice: While the tea cools, blend 2 cups of fresh pineapple chunks in a blender until smooth. Strain if you prefer a clearer tea, or leave as is for pulpier texture.
  3. Sweeten the Mix: Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of honey or agave syrup to the warm tea and stir until fully dissolved. Then incorporate the pineapple juice and 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice, mixing everything evenly.
  4. Chill and Serve: Fill a large pitcher with ice cubes or frozen pineapple cubes and pour the pineapple tea mixture over the ice. Stir gently and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to enhance flavors before serving. Garnish glasses with pineapple wedges or fresh mint if desired.

Notes

  • Use fresh pineapple and high-quality black tea for best flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness after chilling to suit your taste.
  • Don’t skip the lemon juice—it brightens and balances sweetness.
  • Monitor steeping time carefully to avoid bitterness.
  • Try frozen pineapple cubes as ice to avoid diluting the tea.
