Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk (whole milk recommended)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted or softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven and Prepare the Pan: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt to ensure even distribution of the leavening agent and seasoning.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  4. Bring Wet and Dry Together: Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently just until combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the cupcakes tender.
  5. Fill the Cupcake Liners: Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full for ideal rise.
  6. Bake to Perfection: Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Ensure eggs and milk are at room temperature for better mixing and texture.
  • Don’t Overmix: Stir just enough to combine ingredients; overmixing can make cupcakes dense.
  • Measure Flour Accurately: Use the spoon-and-level method for fluffier results instead of scooping directly with the measuring cup.
  • Watch Baking Time Closely: Check cupcakes a few minutes before time’s up to avoid overbaking and dryness.
  • Use Fresh Baking Powder: Ensure your leavening agent is fresh to get the best rise and fluffiness.
