Ingredients

Scale

Steak Filling

  • 8 oz thinly sliced ribeye steak
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil for sautéing

Dough & Cheese

  • 1 batch soft breadstick dough (about 12 by 8 inches when rolled out)
  • 6 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)
  • Optional: extra seasoning for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak Filling: Sauté thinly sliced ribeye steak in a hot skillet with oil. Add diced onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened and caramelized. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the breadstick dough into a rectangle approximately 12 by 8 inches, ensuring consistent thickness for even baking.
  3. Assemble the Breadsticks: Spread the cooled steak mixture evenly over the dough rectangle. Layer the slices of provolone cheese on top. Starting from a longer edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, tightly sealing the seam.
  4. Cut and Bake: Slice the rolled log into 1-inch thick breadsticks. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush the tops with melted butter, and sprinkle extra seasoning if desired. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Serve Warm: Remove the breadsticks from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving to avoid burning from hot cheese. Enjoy warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Choose quality ribeye or sirloin steaks for authentic flavor.
  • Do not overload the filling to prevent breadsticks from falling apart.
  • Seal edges tightly to keep cheese from leaking out during baking.
  • For a crisper crust, bake on a preheated pizza stone or baking steel if available.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture and melted cheese experience.
