Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 6 cups square-shaped Chex cereal
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup pink candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Optional

  • Festive red and pink sugar sprinkles
  • Chopped nuts like almonds or peanuts (for nutty twist)
  • Freeze-dried raspberries or strawberries (for berry infusion)
  • Cayenne or cinnamon (for spicy kick)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace and ingredients: Gather all your ingredients within arm’s reach. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup and to spread the mix later on.
  2. Melt the white chocolate and pink candy melts: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and pink candy melts. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla extract to the melted mixture: Once melted, stir in the vanilla extract to enrich and brighten the overall flavor profile.
  4. Pour chocolate mixture over the cereal: Place the Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over it and gently fold using a spatula or wooden spoon until every piece is evenly coated.
  5. Coat with powdered sugar: Transfer the coated cereal in batches to a large zip-top bag. Add powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake vigorously to cover the pieces well while avoiding clumping.
  6. Add sprinkles and let cool: Spread the coated mix onto the prepared baking sheet. If using, sprinkle red and pink sugar sprinkles right away so they stick. Let it cool completely to set before serving or packaging.

Notes

  • Use fresh powdered sugar to create a light and smooth coating without clumps.
  • Do not overheat chocolate; melt in short bursts to prevent burning and grainy texture.
  • Fold gently to avoid breaking the cereal pieces.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep the mix fresh and crunchy for days.
  • For gifting, add cute Valentine’s tags and use cellophane bags for an adorable presentation.
