Pulled Pork Nachos

Pulled Pork Nachos

Pulled Pork Nachos are a quick, flavorful, and satisfying snack or appetizer featuring tender pulled pork layered over crispy tortilla chips, smothered in melted cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, and topped with fresh jalapeños, green onions, cilantro, and creamy sour cream or Greek yogurt. Perfect for game days, casual gatherings, or anytime you want a deliciously bold and convenient dish.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • Sturdy Tortilla Chips (about 6 cups)
  • Pre-cooked Pulled Pork (2 cups, warmed)
  • Shredded Cheese Blend:
    – 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    – 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • Black Beans (1/2 cup, drained and rinsed)

Fresh Toppings

  • Jalapeños (1/4 cup sliced, fresh or pickled)
  • Green Onions (2 tablespoons, thinly sliced)
  • Fresh Cilantro (2 tablespoons, chopped)
  • Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt (1/4 cup, for dolloping)
  • Pickled Red Onions (optional, 1/4 cup, finely diced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Base: Spread a generous layer of sturdy tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet or oven-safe dish to create a crunchy foundation for your nachos.
  2. Add the Pulled Pork: Evenly distribute the warm, tender pulled pork over the tortilla chips, ensuring each chip is topped with some of the juicy, savory pork.
  3. Layer on Cheese and Beans: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses generously over the pulled pork, followed by scattered black beans for bursts of creaminess and texture.
  4. Bake Until Melty: Place the assembled nachos in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) and bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted thoroughly and is gooey.
  5. Add Fresh Toppings: Remove the nachos from the oven and immediately top with sliced jalapeños, diced green onions, chopped fresh cilantro, dollops of sour cream or Greek yogurt, and optional pickled red onions for a fresh, vibrant finish.

Notes

  • Use sturdy, thick tortilla chips to prevent sogginess under moist toppings.
  • Warm the pulled pork before adding for juiciness and proper temperature.
  • Don’t overload toppings; spread them evenly for balanced bites.
  • Use good melting cheese blends like cheddar and Monterey Jack for ideal gooey texture.
  • Add fresh toppings like cilantro and sour cream only after baking to retain their brightness and texture.
