Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups chocolate chips or melting wafers (milk, white, or dark chocolate)
  • 1 cup Robin Egg candies
  • Sea salt (optional, a pinch)
  • Non-stick spray or parchment paper (for lining)

Optional Add-ins

  • Chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, pecans, pistachios)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Mint extract or crushed peppermint candies

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly spray it with non-stick spray to prevent sticking and make clean-up easier.
  2. Melt the chocolate: Place chocolate chips or melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-30 second intervals, stirring well between each, until the chocolate is completely smooth and creamy. Be careful not to overheat to avoid seizing.
  3. Spread the chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and use an offset spatula or the back of a spoon to spread it out evenly to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  4. Add the Robin Egg candies: While the chocolate is still warm, gently press the Robin Egg candies evenly into the surface. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top for flavor contrast.
  5. Chill until set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens completely.
  6. Break into pieces and serve: Once set, remove the bark from the fridge, peel it off the parchment paper, and break it into irregular pieces. Serve immediately or store for later.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for better flavor and texture.
  • Don’t over-melt the chocolate; stir frequently and heat gradually to keep it smooth and glossy.
  • Press candies gently to avoid cracking the chocolate prematurely.
  • Cover the bark with plastic wrap while chilling to protect it from fridge odors.
  • Serve at room temperature after letting the bark sit out for a few minutes to enhance flavor and texture.
